I Will NOT Let My Husband Get a Tattoo!!

Something funny happened the other day. My husband and I were out shopping. On the way home, he took a "detour downtown".

"I've got a surprise for you," he said.

He pulled up in front of the jewelry store. My heart skipped a beat. I'd been hinting for a new necklace.

I got out of the car and beelined for the jewelers.

"Not there," said my husband, "there!" He pointed across the street.

A handwritten sign hung in the dark window. "Tatto Parlor," it read.

I laughed.

"What could you want to surprise me with in there?" I asked.

"I'm getting your name tatooed on my arm," said my husband.

"You're doing WHAT?" I asked. "Have you flipped your lid?"

A three-hundred pound biker stormed out of the parlor. He shot me a dirty look. Then, he hopped on his Harley and blew out my eardrums.

I was NOT going in that place!

"Get in the car," I said. "You are NOT getting any tattoo!"

"I want to prove my devotion to you," said my husband, "to prove my undying love".

I made my husband leave.

I know this sounds mean, but what if we ever get a divorce? He'll be stuck with my name on his arm. Besides that, men don't stop with one tattoo. Soon, my husband will have skulls, crossbones, pitbulls and pirates all over his body.

It was a sweet gesture, but NO! I have laid down the law!

Why would a fifty year old man want to get a tattoo? I've never heard of anything quite so ridiculous in my life!!

Hahaha... Did he really talk like that?

My boyfriend doesn't have any tattoos, but has said that when he gets married, it'll be long-term bc he'd rather not divorce, and he wants to get a band on his ring finger, in addition to a regular wedding band.

I have tattoos, and want more. I told him that'd be cool.

lol - that's a bit strange, his sudden desire to get a tattoo... did he watch a movie with people getting tattooed or what; where did this idea come from hahaha

I'm actually getting a tattoo for my birthday, however, I've decided on something quite small and it will be on my lower neck bellow my collar line. I'm going with something little just in case I ever decide to have it removed by laser

I'm also not 50 hehe

I think you did the right thing, putting your foot down.

I don't know where he got the idea. Orange County Choppers, I guess.
